the club restaurantFollowing a few glasses of champagne (me) and a few Chivas on the rocks (Philip) at the Semana Santa edition of the Sunset Jazz Night at the Azimut Café, Philip Silvestri and I decided to head up to Altos de Chavón for a wander about – and discovered that new restaurant “The Club” was open! the club restaurantAnd so always curious – Philip Silvestri and I, headed down the steps of the old “Casa del Rio” and into “The Club”, where the classic old-world structure of the building (with the magnificent view of the Chavón river) had been lighten and brightened with a fresh and crisp brown, white and red color scheme. Very nice indeed. As The Club’s very first customers we were greeted by the manager, who took us on a little tour of the restaurant – which will eventually include a deck with an outside sitting area, as well as also spread into the neighbouring building – formally “Giacosa” restaurant. Unable to resist trying something new and delicious, Philip and I were persuaded to sit down and try something. The rib eye steak cooked on The Club’s very own traditional Argentine grill, and served with salad and mashed potatoes, accompanied by a glass or 2 of their house red wine (which was excellent), this discovery made for the perfect end to a great evening.

Although still adding the “finishing touches”, The Club is now open daily from 6pm, but will be open next week (from Monday April the 8th) from 9am in the morning – serving breakfast and lunch, as well as dinner. Please click on the image below to view the menu at The Club in Altos de Chavón.  (Please note that as they have literally only just opened some of these menu items may not yet be available.)  When completed The Club will offer Casa de Campo villa owners and visitors a complete experience – dining and dancing – with a DJ, dance floor and even regular karaoke nights! As soon as we know more we’ll let you know!
