4th Moet and Hennessy Polo Tournament

polo_topThe annual Moet and Hennessy Polo tournament began at 3pm this past Saturday the 11th of April, at the polo grounds in Casa de Campo. The event which is in its fourth year was well attended by at least 500 Casa de Campo residents and hotel guests who all came together to enjoy the Polo, as well as the open bar and a few nibbles. The drink of choice for the afternoon was ‘Chandon 187’ which was served in mini champagne bottles, and drank through a straw – the height of decadence!

The games finished at about 6pm and were immeadiatly followed by a lively prize giving, celebrated with the opening of several magnums of Moet and Chandon champagne and a downpour of gold and silver confetti! The party continued until long after sunset with the help of a DJ and a stunning fireworks display.

In total six teams battled it out for the cup, which in the end was won by La Pachanga, who’s team members were: Luis Paniagua, Flaco Maldonado, Pedro Osoria and Roberto Jimenez. While in the lower handicap section ‘La Manchita’ beat  ‘Club Car-Brugal,’ members of the winning team La Manchita were Pamela Hartiling, Enrique Bonetti, Pedro Osoria y Roberto Jiménez. Roberto Jiménez also won the title of ‘best player.’ The other competing teams were La Potranca, La Manchita, Club Car-Brugal, La Carbocha and Central Romana.
