3R Elementos art furniture3R Elementos, creators of the art-furniture is made from the remains of old traditional Dominican houses is currently hosting an art exhibit at Acropolis Mall in Santo Domingo.  I’m sure most of the Casa de Campo community will remember Elementos (now called 3R Elementos) from when they used to have a showroom in the Marina Casa de Campo, and I’m sure you’ll be even more pleased to know that Elementos is still going strong – and are even innovating to create increasingly beautiful and stylish furniture, perfect for Casa de Campo living. And while 3R Elementos has a large workshop and showroom here in La Romana (on the Padre Abreu Ave – the road where the Francisco Micheli Stadium is located), they are currently showing off their tables, chairs, sofas and coffee tables in Acropolis mall in Santo Domingo. 3R Elementos art furniture The exhibition will remain open until the 30th of January, so if you’re living in Santo Domingo, go take a look, or alternatively if you’re based here in Casa de Campo you’d be more than welcome to visit their showroom in La Romana. And of course we recommend you visit their website to find out more: www.3R-elementos.com

3R Elementos

REDUCE-REUSE-RECYCLE Originally created by French artist Jean Pierre Frey, Elementos now goes by the name 3R Elementos and is owned by Georges Thevenet, a Franco-Dominican artist (who lived for 26 years in France and has been living in the Dominican Republic for 26 years). Georges trained as an architect and driven by the preservation and revaluation of a usually ignored and depreciated heritage (but still very present visually as well as in the culture of the island), is using the 3R logic to create Art Furniture from scrap wood originating from the last century’s old Dominican houses.
