As most of you might have already caught on, golf in Casa de Campo never stops! This year, the foundation El Ser Libre y Feliz will be celebrating their second International Golf Open on Saturday, November 18th SATURDAY, DECEMBER 9th on the Links Golf course. The event is organized with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the National Disability Council (CONADIS) and will benefit the foundation’s pilot project, the Escuela de Educación Especial Padre Sebastian Cavalotto (Father Sebastian Cavalotto Special Needs School), helping more than 200 students!

The foundation El Ser Libre y Feliz, headed by Andrés Vélez Cordero, which was inaugurated last year in the Marina,  explained that this project consists of improving the educational inclusion of children and teens with special needs and has the aim of preparing them to lead productive and independent lives.

The “El Ser Libre y Feliz International Golf Open 2017” will be played on one of Pete Dye’s designed courses, the Links in Stableford format divided into A and B Categories. The event will be dedicated to Dr. Abel “Cayo” González, who is a renowned doctor in Santo Domingo as well as an avid golf player. The director of the tournament is Mr. Joaquín Montero, who you might remember as the winner of the last two parent-child tournaments with his son.

Last year, we witnessed all the fun the players had during the charity event so we encourage you to sign up and engage in some friendly competition! Last time it was won by former Major League player, George Bell who won the best score ‘Gross’ of the contest in category A, ending the day with a total of 35 points.

The golf tournament will cost RD $6,000 per participant and is open to both men and women, even young golfers!
