It was another sunny and successful day for golf and fundraising in Casa de Campo on Saturday the 13th! The Fundación MIR hosted their 28th Annual Magical Splendor Golf Tournament at the Casa de Campo Country Club. Each year, Lian Fanjul de Azqueta, her daughter Lyanne Azqueta and the whole Fundación MIR team do an incredible job putting together this tournament and raising money for education for hundreds of children in La Romana. Here in Casa de Campo, we LOVE golf, and what makes this tournament even more special is that it is uniting the community for a cause close to our hearts!
Following a few rather rainy days last week, Saturday’s blue skies welcomed the golfers to the course and though there were a few light rain showers at the beginning of the tournament, the weather held up nicely throughout the afternoon.
The Fundación MIR Golf Tournament is played “Scramble” style, with teams working together to obtain the lowest score on each hole together. Each teammate hits a drive and then the best of the four balls is then played. The teamwork style of scramble tournaments keeps the game fun and more community focused that individual score driven. It is the perfect style of tournament for fundraisers, keeping the energy all about teamwork and the community!
The tournament may be more about putting the FUN in fundraising, but competition was still in the air! Below are the results of the Fundación MIR’s 28th Annual Magical Splendor Golf Tournament!
