This Saturday the 7th of July, the “Asociación de Golf de La Romana” (La Romana Golf Association) will host it’s first golf tournament in Casa de Campo, in honor of well known La Romana community members; Francisco Micheli, Andrés Veléz (Andy) and Ramón (Cucho) Cruz.
The “1st La Romana Golf Association Tournament” being directed by local La Romana business man, Federico Felix and sponsored by the Central Romana Corporation, Casa de Campo and Costasur will be played this Saturday July 7th at 1pm on Casa de Campo’s Links golf course in the format “Best ball in pairs” and is open to the public.
For this the first edition of the La Romana Golf Association Tournament, Francisco Micheli, Andrés Veléz (Andy) and Ramón (Cucho) Cruz wer chosen to be honored as all three are not only prominent golfers, but also all three are this month celebrating their birthdays – what better way to celebrate a birthday than with a golf tournament in their honor!

Francisco Micheli, who is best know in the La Romana community as the President of the La Romana baseball team “Los Toros del Este”, saying ‘‘it is a great honor that I very much value and appreciate on behalf of me and my family,” whilst Andrés (Andy) Veléz, who is the Vice-President of finance at the Central Romana Corporation is especially pleased to be taking part in the tournament, which he will be playing with his son (also Andrés Veléz), who told us; “my father feels very honored and grateful to the Central Romana Corporation and the La Romana Golf Association.”
Following the tournament a prize-giving ceremony with dinner and even dancing will be held at the Club Caza y Pesca from 7:30pm
