The La Romana-Bayahibe Hotel Association (AHRB) successfully held the 12th edition of the La Romana Golf Tournament this past weekend, paying tribute to Andrés Pichardo Rosenberg, president of Casa de Campo Resort & Villas.

The tournament, played in a two-player scramble format, delivered an exciting and competitive experience for all participants. In the men’s Category A, Carlos Medrano and Harold Cuellar claimed first place with an impressive net score of 63. In Category B, Chad Knowles and Melvin Ortega Rodríguez also secured victory with a score of 63.

In the women’s category, Franchesca Páez and Elizabeth Pérez took the top spot with 69 strokes. “This is the second time I’ve won the tournament, but today was particularly competitive, with strong players out on the course. That makes the victory especially rewarding,” said Elizabeth Pérez.

The tournament’s best gross score went to the duo of Leo Pérez Freixas and Mario Saviñón, who posted a score of 65. “The greens were quite tricky, but we managed to overcome them. I’m very grateful for this recognition. I’ve participated in all twelve editions of this tournament, and it’s always a great success,” said Pérez Freixas, general manager of Almacenes Hatuey.

During the tribute, Andrés Pichardo Rosenberg expressed his gratitude with the following remarks: “La Romana is a model of how collaboration between the private sector, local communities, and public institutions can generate a sustainable, competitive, and world-class tourism destination. Contributing to that shared effort from Casa de Campo has been one of the greatest privileges of my career.”

Proceeds from the event will support a high-impact social project in the region.
