World Baseball Classic

Guess who still remains unbeaten with 6 victories and 0 defeats World Baseball Classic (WBC)?! The Dominican Republic of course!!! AND today the team will be playing against the Netherlands – THE game which will determine who will be qualified for the finals and have the opportunity to battle against Puerto Rico to claim World Baseball Classic (WBC) championship!

Since our last update on the tremendous World Baseball Classic, three pretty impressive games have taken place and today it puts us only one day away from the WBC finals! So in order to keep you up to date with what has happened during the weekend, here we share a summary of the most important facts:

Thursday March the 14th 2013: Dominican Republic vs. United States
On the second round of the World Baseball Classic (WBC), the Dominican Republic defeated the United States 3 to 1. With this victory, the dominican team was qualified to play in the semi-finals which will be celebrated in San Francisco (tentative).

Friday March the 15th 2013: Puerto Rico vs. United States
This was decisive game between Puerto Rico and the United States, one of them would not make it to the semi-finals… the United States was disqualified by Puerto Rico. The game ended 4 to 3 giving victory to Puerto Rico!

Saturday March the 16th 2013: Dominican Republic vs. Puerto Rico
One other game was added to the Dominican Republic’s record of  undefeated games, giving the team a record of 6 victories and 0 defeats! The game was played to determine which team would play against Netherlands in the semi-finals (the winning team: DR) and which would play against Japan (the beaten team: PR).

Sunday March 17th 2013: Puerto Rico vs. Japan
This extraordinary game played last night in San Francisco was between Puerto Rico and Japan – the last one a team which has won the world championship in various ocassions! But this was not the case or an obstacle for Puerto Rico… the “boricua” team, cheered by many boricuas (Puerto Ricans) and latinos alike, made themselves a safe spot in the finals, winning the game 3-1, eliminating Japan! Congratulations Puerto Rico! 

TODAY, Monday March the 18th 2013: Dominican Republic vs. Netherlands
Netherlands or the Dominican Republic?… Who will be battling tomorrow against Puerto Rico in the World Classic Baseball finals tomorrow?

When: Monday March the 18th 2013, 9pm

Where: If you are in Casa de Campo, the game will be aired on CDN (Channel #37)
