Tonight is the night to be in Altos de Chavón! The evening’s festivities begin with a special lecture about Captain Kidd’s shipwreck off of Catalina Island, then continue with the opening of new art gallery exhibit “La acción del caballo de polo” and end with a special “set-menu” dinner at La Piazzetta for only USD$27.

The amazing story of Captain Kidd’s shipwreck off Catalina Island
The tale of Captain William Kidd, one of the most notorious pirates in the history of the world and the Quedagh Merchant (the last vessel he captured) – will be brought to life with a special lecture by guest speaker Dr Charles Beeker.

Inauguration of “La acción del caballo de polo” art exhibit
Casa de Campo and all Casa de Campo and Altos de Chavón residents, friends, family, tourists and art lovers are invited to attend and enjoy a cocktail whilst admiring the new exhibit which will showcase nearly life-sized images from Polo games and express the thunderous action reminiscent of Polo’s Persian origin: cavalry training.

Special “set-menu” dinner at La Piazzetta
For dining after the Captain Kidd lecture and the art exhibit, Casa de Campo has organized a special “set-menu” dinner at their popular La Piazzetta restaurant, which includes the “antipasto” buffet, a choice of seafood fettucini or mushroom risotto and their delicious warm chocolate tortino, as well as a glass of wine for USD$27 per person plus taxes.

Delicious traditional Italian cuisine at Gino in Trastevere
Although not hosting a special event, Gino In Trastevere , on of Casa de Campo’s finest restaurants, located on a lofty terrace in Altos de Chavón (next door to the church) will be open as usual serving a wonderful array of authentic Italian dishes, such as stone-baked pizzas, al dente pastas, seafood – the Chef’s Style Shrimp are incredible as well as many other exquisite dishes.
