STING is coming to Altos de Chavón on September the 4th – woohooo! OK so that’s old news and now that we are all super excited about the concert, we’ve all been wondering – where can we buy tickets?

Given that the previous STING concert in 2006 was completely sold out and was attended by nearly 6,000 people, getting tickets now for the STING concert, it’s understandable that we want our tickets and we want them NOW!

So following a little research and about 1 million phone calls I have discovered that tickets are already on sale and can be purchased in the following places:

  • Nacional Supermarkets – but not the Nacional Supermarket in the Marina Casa de Campo (because that would be too convenient!)
  • Jumbo in La Romana – I phoned and checked and yes they do have tickets and yes they are selling them HOWEVER, there has been a ‘poco inconveniente’ with credit card payments, ‘inconvenient’ because there system isn’t working and so you cannot pay with credit cards – so just a small inconvenience! So if you want to buy tickets with a CARD, call in advance to check the machine is working: 809-813-1893
  • The Casa de Campo Villa Owners Club in the main Casa de Campo entrance (entrada principal) – last week they didn’t have them but now they do! But you can only pay in cash!
For more info, here is are their phone numbers: 809-523-2161 and 809-523-8939
  • UEPA Tickets in Santo Domingo. Click here for more info!

And for those of you who didn’t read my previous Sting-related article (tut tut), the ticket prices for the STING concert in Altos de Chavón are as follows:

Special Guest: RD$10,000 (approximately US$260)
VIP: RD$5,000 (approximately US$130)
General: RD$3,00 (approximately US$80)

GOOD LUCK! Let’s hope that actually buying tickets is easier than finding out information about them!

Oh and by the way – for those of you who are HUGE Sting fans, this piece of news may interest you – but I warn you I personally think it is rather un-interesting:

STING will perform in the  Curazao North Sea Jazz Festival before he performs in Altos de Chavón
Yes that’s right, according to a ‘press release’ before his performance in Altos de Chavón Casa de Campo STING will be performing alongside some legendary Latino music masters, such as Juan Luis Guerra and Rubén Blades at the Curazao North Sea Jazz Festival! Wow – that sounds pretty awesome, except that this festival takes place in Holland in Europe……given the hype I thought maybe the festival was taking place in Santo Domingo, but no!

For those of you who really are interested in the Curazao North Sea Jazz Festival, here is the original press release:
