Save the date! The annual ballet presentation brought to us by the “Academia de Ballet Elizabeth de Zeller” (ballet academy) will take place on Saturday the 1st of December in the Altos de Chavón amphitheatre.
The show, this year entitled “Simplemente lo Mejor del Ballet” (simply the best of ballet), will feature the talented young dancers of the “Academia de Ballet Elizabeth de Zeller”, including many rising stars from the Casa de Campo communities and local schools, such as the Abraham Lincoln School in Central Romana and the St. Johns school in La Romana.
This annual event has been celebrated for more than 40 years by its founder Elizabeth Perrota de Zeller, best known as Tia Eli, in order to raise funds for the “Hogar de Ancianos Padre Abreu”, the elderly persons home in La Romana. The “Academia de Ballet Magda Corbett”, now called “Academia de Ballet Elizabeth de Zeller”, in her honor of it’s founder, has taught thousands of girls for many generations- not only the wonderful art of dancing ballet, but the importance of contributing with this lovely cause.

Last year, on Friday the 25th of November 2011, the Elizabeth Zeller Ballet Academy kick-started the Christmas celebrations with a “Christmas Fantasy” ballet performance at the Altos de Chavón amphitheater.
Multi-coloured lights, as well as the smiles and enthusiasm of these talented dancers and their families, brought life to Altos de Chavon’s Amphiteater!
