Animated Tree

Last week we reported a rumor that a Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony would be taking place in Altos de Chavon this month – we can now confirm that this is true and we have all the exciting details.

The ceremony will take place at 8pm on Friday the 18th of December – the first day of the school Christmas holidays!

Here Casa de Campo describes what exactly you can expect from this tree lightning ceremony:

It’s the official ceremony to launch the holiday season with the lighting of our holiday decorations and our breathtaking tree in the Chavón Plaza. Enjoy the sounds of the Dominican Youth Symphonic Orchestra and the Lyric singers Antonia Chabebe y Otilio Castro from Compañía Lírica Nacional, both part of Secretary of State of Culture, as they present a variety of holiday carols and old favourites.

Sounds like it’s sure to be a fantastic night!

As for the tree itself – I hear that it’s not going to be just any christmas tree, but rather an ‘animated tree’ which as far as I understand, means that the lights will ‘dance’ to the beat of music! The above header photo was provided by Casa de Campo hotel and is an image of what we can expect our tree in Altos de Chavon to look like.
