Spanish actress Paz Vega, a resident of the exclusive Casa de Campo community, has just starred in Netflix’s latest hit, “No Puedo Vivir Sin Ti.” This comedy, which also features renowned Argentine producer and actor Adrián Suar, is capturing the attention of Dominican audiences, currently ranking in the top 6 of the country’s 10 most popular movies.
The film humorously addresses a modern and relevant issue: mobile phone addiction. In “No Puedo Vivir Sin Ti,” Suar plays ‘Carlos,’ a businessman whose dependence on his cellphone triggers a personal crisis. His obsession leads him to neglect his wife, ‘Adela,’ portrayed by Vega, who feels marginalized and undervalued. The situation escalates when ‘Adela’ requests a divorce, prompting ‘Carlos’ to seek therapy and fight to save their relationship.
Vega, known for her impressive film career, enthusiastically shared her experience with the project. In an exclusive interview with Casa de Campo Living, she explained what drew her to the film: “I found it to be a story that humorously addresses a very common problem we are all, in some way, immersed in. It’s a brilliant idea,” she said. The chance to work with Adrián Suar was also a decisive factor for her.
Regarding her experience playing ‘Adela,’ Vega highlighted the challenge of balancing comedy with the gravity of the family situation. “The challenge was to find the balance between comedy and tragedy. A divorce is a serious matter, and it’s important to approach it with sensitivity,” she said.
The actress also offered some advice for those struggling with cellphone addiction: “I’m not one to give advice, but there are small actions that can help reduce phone usage. For example, turning it off three hours before going to bed can be a good start.”
Sharing the set with Suar, according to Vega, was a rewarding experience. “Working with Adrián was very fun and easy. He has great comedic timing and is an excellent partner. We enjoyed every scene,” she said.
The success of “No Puedo Vivir Sin Ti” on Netflix is a source of pride for Vega. “It’s always a joy when your work is seen. I’m very happy for Santiago, the director, who put a lot of love into this story. The best reward is that the audience responds well,” she said.
In addition to her current success, Paz Vega is excited about the release of her debut feature film, “RITA,” scheduled for October 25. Meanwhile, she is immersed in writing her next project. “I’ve spent the summer between Ibiza, Sardinia, and the Sierra de Gredos in Ávila. Now I’m enjoying a few days in Casa de Campo, the perfect place to write,” she revealed.
