Last night Wednesday the 6th of March, Art Chavón 2013 was officially inaugurated at the Altos de Chavón art gallery with the first event – a cocktail and silent auction – in aid of the Altos de Chavón Cultural Center Foundation. And tonight (Thursday) and tomorrow (Friday) evening the artistic events continue – your opportunity to invest in the future of Dominican art and design!

Taking place for the first time in the Altos de Chavón art gallery, the event is not only raising much needed funds for the school – who offer scholarships to many talented and deserving young artists, but is also a fantastic showcase of all the excellent work these students achieve whilst in Altos de Chavón. From floor to ceiling the gallery is covered with unique and sophisticated works of art – all created by both current and pasts students of the Altos de Chavón School of Art and Design and all for sale – hence the opportunity for YOU to invest in the future of Dominican art and design!

Of course following last night’s successful event, which included a silent auction of some of the most popular pieces many of the artworks are already sold – but many are not – which is why we hope to see you TONIGHT supporting this great event at the Altos de Chavón art gallery!

The details of the rest of the event are as follows:

St. Patrick’s Day, Saturday, March 17th, was a magical evening, filled with the purple light of dusk and two hundred members of the Casa de Campo community enjoying friendship and art. The second villa-based fundraiser—or “Friend-Raiser”—cocktail for The Altos de Chavón School of Art and Design Scholarship Fund was a resounding success.
