On Saturday, September 20, the Altos de Chavón garden once again became the setting for the traditional open-air event known as the Altos de Chavón Market, where creativity and local talent took center stage.
Starting at 4 p.m., visitors and residents strolled through pathways lined with stalls filled with handicrafts, handmade goods, and unique pieces that celebrated the country’s rich cultural heritage. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, conversation, and a pleasant musical backdrop.

Each artisan shared the story behind their creations — from delicate jewelry inspired by the Caribbean Sea to decorative items made from natural fibers and recycled materials. Attendees had the chance to support local commerce by connecting directly with the creators and taking home not just a product, but a piece of Dominican identity.
Altos de Chavón Market reaffirms the vision of this emblematic space as a meeting point for art, culture, and community, offering residents and visitors an ideal setting to enjoy the beauty of the landscape while promoting the creative economy and artisanal talent of the Dominican Republic.
With each edition, this event continues to strengthen its place as a cherished tradition, bridging history and modernity at this iconic destination in the heart of La Romana.
