La Romana International Airport celebrated the arrival of the first flight from Portuguese airline World2Fly Portugal on the afternoon of Friday, June 6. The flight, arriving from Lisbon, marked the official start of the 2025 summer season.
The new route strengthens connectivity between Portugal and La Romana, reflecting the growing interest of the Portuguese market in experiencing the beauty and quality of the Dominican Caribbean. World2Fly will operate this weekly service through Friday, September 26, using its modern Airbus A330-300 aircraft with a capacity of 352 passengers.
Passengers on the inaugural flight were greeted warmly by airport staff and representatives of the local tourism sector, creating an atmosphere that reflected La Romana’s hospitality and commitment to service excellence.
