We are now less than a month away from celebrating one of the most anticipated events of the summer, the Fundación MIR Family Weekend, which will take place throughout the Casa de Campo resort August 12th and 13th.
The Fundación MIR Family Weekend is a fundraising event that includes tennis and golf tournaments, as well as an awards dinner and after-party. The profits go to the foundation to provide education and other basic necessities to children and families in need here in La Romana.
The weekend will consist of a Welcome Party at Genesis Nightclub on Friday, August 12th, and a Tennis clinic for children the following morning along with the Tennis Tournament in Terraza Tennis Club. The Golf Tournament will take place in La Romana Country Club also on Saturday August 13th. That evening, during the dinner and dance party at Minitas, which will have live music by la Orquesta Dekadas, the awards ceremony will congratulate all the winners throughout the family weekend. The dress code for this dinner party is “Tropical Chic,” and will come to a close with DJ Gringo from Miami who has always supported Fundación MIR. He will surely have us dancing the night away!

What: Parties and tournaments, as well as a prize-giving ceremony held during the Dinner-Gala to benefit Fundación MIR in educating the children of La Romana.
The Fundación MIR is a non-profit organization which works to provide education to the children of the greater La Romana area, who are most in need. They run 3 schools; the MIR Esperanza (boys vocational school), the Escuela Técnica Vocacional Fundación MIR (girls vocational school) and the Primaria MIR (infants school).
