The event was the Feria Barlovento: A Venetian Festival in the Marina Casa de Campo, Elementos art furniture store hosted their own ‘Wine and Cheese tasting’ to compliment all the other festivities!
The Feria Barlovento: A Venetian Festival at the Marina Casa de Campo, took place on Saturday the 8th of January and brought the Calle Barlovento of the Marina to life with music, dancers, shopping specials, a costume contest and the Costumed Puppy Parade. About Elementos and Jean-Pierre Frey Jean Pierre’s unique and gorgeous art-furniture is made from the remains of old traditional Dominican houses – the ones painted pink, blue, green – hence the furniture’s unique mix of eclectic colours. Each piece is hand-made in his workshop in La Romana, where he transforms useless pieces of old wood into functional pieces of furniture, that not only look good as furniture, but can serve as the focal point of any room – just like any other work of art. As well as furniture Jean Pierre also has a number of Dominican-inspired paintings, that perfectly reflect the Dominican culture and lifestyle with all it’s vibrancy and color! Throughout the evening, guests were invited to enjoy wine and cheese which had been provided by Casa Wine Shop – a wine delivery service and shop owned and ran by Carole Trembley. As always with Carole, the wine was delicious – she only sells the very best imported wines from France, Italy and California. She also sells French cheeses, imported from France – which were served during the evening and were absolutely delicious!
