Many of us who live in Casa de Campo know what a great joy it is to have a pool.  The ability to jump into the water on a whim is priceless!  There is nothing like being able to jump into the crystal waters on a hot summer day, or a cool evening under the stars.  There really is little like having your own pool.

Having a pool is a great privilege, but also carries some responsibility for testing and cleaning of the water, as well as proper maintenance of the equipment.  Unfortunately, this is a little more specialized set of tasks, requiring a bit of thought, that is not as easily delegated, which is why while some residents of Casa de Campo will opt to go with maintaining it on their own, those looking to be sure their pools are well attended will hire a professional services.

When hiring any professional service, there are some important things to keep an eye out for:

  • Professionalism -Does your pool maintenance service check the water quality every time they will be adding chemicals? They should. If they are not, then they could be over or under chlorinating your water.
  • Up-front pricing – know what your going to get, whats included and whats not included. Remember to discuss the costs of the service, chemicals and what taxes are, or are not included.
  • Experience – Sounds obvious, but this is a very important factor. Remember, there are dangerous chemicals that go into the water. Too few and your water will not be right – too many and this can also cause problems.

Always remember that the skin is the largest organ of the human body, absorbing all that it comes in contact with, chemicals and all.  So treat your skin and your pool with a care – make sure that whomever you choose to take care of your pool, that they fully understand and respect the adverse effects that poor pool maintenance can have on your health.
