Fundacion MIR Family Weekend For Life: Tennis Tournament

The Fundacion MIR Family Weekend for Life tennis tournament began bright and early at 9AM on Saturday the 14th of August at the la Terraza Tennis Club in Casa de Campo as a group of enthusiastic and philanthropic tennis players gathered and prepared to battle it out to be crowned the MIR tennis champion!

The results of the tennis tournament were as follows:

Juniors – Category A
Winner: Juan José Arteaga
Runner-up: Charlie Grande

Juniors – Category B
Winner: Sebastian Rodriguez
Runner-up: Guillermo García

Womens Doubles – Category A
Winner: Marisa Artega
Runner-up: María Chase Ginebra

Womens Doubles – Category B
Winner: Miranda Rodriguez
Runner-up: Peggy Goldberg

Mens Doubles – Category A
Winner: Diego Sánchez De León
Runner-up: Juan José Arteaga (hijo)

Mens Doubles – Category B
Winner: Teddy Heinsen
Runner-up: Gonzalo Sánchez De León

MIR FACT: A donation of just $300 would provide the Fundacion MIR’s nursing home with ALL the supplies they need for an entire month!

The Fundacion MIR (Mission International Rescue) is a non-profit organization that works to supply the Dominican Republic’s most marginalized people with a variety of life-altering services. Since 1990, we have served the women, youth and children of La Romana and the Eastern region of the Dominican Republic by partnering with and providing funding for social programs. With the help of benefactors and individual contributions, the programs provide a home, medical assistance, education and technical preparation for the people that are most in need in our community.
