You’ve just arrived to the best place on earth – your villa in Casa de Campo of course! You’ve unpacked and now you are ready to email your family and friends to let them know that you got to paradise safely. You press the button to turn on your computer and try to enter your email but no luck – you have no Internet!
Suggestion: Before you even arrive to Casa de Campo, it’s a good idea to ask someone to check if your internet is working – but if you didn’t don’t panic, here is what you need to do:
Step 1: Go to your modem which is normally a black small box connected to your phone line via a beige color filter. On the filter the line going to the modem should be connected to the socket that says DSL. If the modem is on, unplug it from the electricity outlet, wait 5 seconds and plug it back in, wait about a minute. At least three lights should be on. If they are not, you should call a computer technician for help. If they are on go to step number 2.
Step 2:
If your are connecting wirelessly or as we say WiFi, make sure that you’ve selected the correct WiFi network. If you are not using WiFi, connect the network cable – which is usually a yellow or gray to the computer. Now you should be able to go online.
With these two simple steps you should have your internet up and running, but if you don’t – remember you can call your friendly tech guy!
