The Central Romana sugar factory announced today, that it has now started its sugar operations corresponding to the 2014-2015 season.
For this year, the Department of Agricultural Research of Central Romana has opened a new modern tissue culture laboratory, and a new greenhouse with the aim to produce disease-free plants. The cost of the new project for tissue culture was valued at more than RD$45 million. The aim of these measures is that the Central Romana can meet established goals for its sugar production and supply the market with a stable and a better quality production.
In addition, prior to the opening of the new sugar production season, between June and November of this year, routine maintenance and improvements were made to all machinery involved in the production process.
