Stumbled across this article about the DR and Casa de Campo… worth a read. La Romana owes its tourist boom to Casa de Campo, an internationally known resort considered by many to be without equal in the Caribbean (and that’s saying something). Casa de Campo and its 7,000-acre grounds were designed by fashion designer Oscar […]

My good lord its been crazy around these here parts… [part 1]
Ok, for those of you who know me, I am the anti-party animal, preferring to chill and relax at home or homes of those friends closest to me. That said, the last couple of weeks have been insane, and I am glad to say that with no plans for the immediate future, I have a […]
Its been quiet around these here parts…
…well not really, but I’ve honestly been swamped and unable to add things. I know I owe everyone a summary of the MIR fashion show, which I will get to one of these day – with photos and videos galore! In the meantime, I just wanted to reflect on a few recent friends that I […]
MIR Fashion Show Weekend
Its that time of the year. Time to get your glamour on. Time to get your Guayabera pressed. Time to get your best ‘casual’ clothing out. Time for a little botox if your into that sort of thing. And of course, time to open your hearts – and your checkbooks, for this good cause. Of […]
Casa de Campo – What a view!
In showing a friend of mine a great technology web-tool, Google Maps (http://maps.google.com), I HAD always been disappointed that the satellite images of Casa de Campo were fuzzy and out dated – WELL NO MORE! Build an enclave of 350 elegant villas (think open Indonesian-style living areas, light breezy […]
Away from Casa
Sorry for the lack of posts over the last week, but I have just returned from a little escape from Casa, my travels having taken me to the big apple. Interestingly enough, I spend the greater part of the time visiting friends, walking and eating. So what does this have to do with Casa de […]
Best darn burger EVER!
So much to write about this last weekend, so I will have to break this up into two posts. The most memorable event though, was without a doubt a burger I had during the Texan Barbercue Dinner Buffet. Wow! I’m sad to say it was the best burger I have ever had -BAR NONE. Keep […]
A Spectacular Sunset
What else is there to tell you, other than the obvious – this is the first time I tried to capture one of the many amazing sunsets that you can experience at Casa de Campo. The only thing better are the millions of stars that begin to shine shortly after.
