Casa de Campo Resort & Villas, home to the Caribbean’s most prestigious golf courses, enthusiastically announces the addition of Delfina Acosta as its new Assistant Golf Professional.

At just 30 years old, Acosta joins the Casa de Campo golf team with a strong competitive background and a fresh vision to enrich the guest experience. Her passion for golf began at age eight in Comandante Nicanor Otamendi, a small town near Mar del Plata, Argentina, where ironically, no golf course existed. Her dedication led her to travel 45 minutes, four times a week, just to train.

From an early age, Acosta excelled in national and international competitions. She represented Argentina in South American tournaments and two World Championships (Japan and Turkey), and won the bronze medal in the mixed team event at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto.

At age 18, she moved to the United States and graduated from the University of Miami in 2017 with degrees in Photography and Graphic Design, combining her athletic talent with a creative passion. Her professional golf career took off in 2018 when she earned her card to compete on the second Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) circuit, reaching a milestone in 2019 by competing in the U.S. Women’s Open at the Country Club of Charleston, South Carolina.

After leaving competitive play at the end of 2023 for personal reasons, Acosta decided to continue her life in the golf world from a new perspective. Her arrival at Casa de Campo was motivated by an immediate love for the resort after a previous visit. She sent her resume in March of this year and, to her delight, was selected in May.

In her role as Assistant Golf Professional, Acosta focuses on customer service and club operations, including:

  • Supporting the golf shop.
  • Assisting in the organization and logistics of tournaments and events.
  • Guiding visitors on the courses, especially at Teeth of the Dog, ensuring a memorable experience.

“We are delighted to welcome Delfina to the Casa de Campo golf team,” said Robert Birtel, Casa de Campo’s Director of Golf. “Her international experience and passion for golf will strengthen our commitment to offering exceptional experiences to all our guests and members.”

Casa de Campo Resort & Villas is proud to incorporate a professional with international experience and a palpable enthusiasm for golf and hospitality.
