LOVED IT! The ballet performance held at the Altos de Chavón Amphitheater in Casa de Camp on Saturday the 10th of September was fantastic. The performance incorporated acts from a Columbian Ballet school (INCOLBALLET) and the Ballet Nacional Dominicano (the Dominican Nacional Ballet), as well as featuring a variety of different dances.
BRAVO! Ballet in Altos de Chavón – wonderful!
The show brought to Altos de Chavón, Casa de Campo by the Dominican Ministry of Tourism and the Central Romana Corporation for Casa de Campo villa owners, began with a mesmerising performance by the Instituto Colombiano de Ballet Clásico (classical Columbian ballet group), which was both ballet and a mix of sexy latino dances such as tango and salsa. Absolutely incredible.

The Columbian ballet group (INCOLBALLET), under the direction of famed teacher Gloria Castro, who founded the Ballet Nacional de Colombia, performed a variety of presentations; “Tangueándonos”, choreographed by Jorge Amarante, with music by Indris Joner y E. Blázquez; “Memorias del dorado”, choreographed by Annabelle López Ochoa with music by Juan Sebastian Bach, M. Ritcher y Vivaldi.

The Dominican Nacional Ballet group were equally superb – beginning their presentation with a ballet rendition of “Romeo and Juliet”, which was superb.

This ballet performance was held in the Altos de Chavón amphitheater as part of the 30th anniversary celebrations for the 5,000 seater open-air venue in Casa de Campo, celebrations will continue this weekend, on Saturday the 24th of September with an Acrobatic Performance group from Taiwan!
