An art sale in aid of the Altos de Chavón School of Design will be held this Sunday April 12th at one of Casa de Campo’s most remarkable villas – Punta Minitas #34.
The sale offers works by important Dominican artists including Cándido Bidó, Antonio Prats-Ventós and Guillo Pérez. Arts and handicrafts lovers will also find collectibles from many nations around the globe: Ecuadoran handwoven kilim-style rugs; sculptures from New Guinea; African-style masks and tapestries; wood carvings from Asia and New Zealand; and more. There’s also an eclectic mix of home furnishings such as artisanal wall hangings and embroidered pillow covers.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Altos de Chavón School of Design, which since 1983 has been an important national resource for pioneering education in art and design.
