On Saturday the 15th of February 2013, whilst the tennis enthusiasts and the bikers were doing there thing in the MTB bike marathon and the tennis tournament respectively, Casa de Campo passionate golfers were out and about and teeing off around the La Romana Country Club course – at the Hogar del Niño golf tournament.
With so many Casa de Campo golfers (more than 200 in fact) taking part, the “salidas” had to be divided into 2 groups, with the first group teeing off at 8:30am and the second group heading out at 1pm.
Both groups of players, whether they played in the morning or the afternoon enjoyed a fun round of Casa de Campo golf in the glorious sunshine played in a ‘scrabble’ format – and were treated to various goodies on their way around – McDonalds chicken nuggets and Brugal rum among other things!
And with some rather special prizes up for grabs… there was certainly a friendly (ish) sense of competitivity amongst the teams. The prizes for a hole-in-one were a Fiat 500 Convertible and an Alfa Romeo Mito (sadly no-one one them), whilst the prize for “closest to the pin” was a year’s membership in the Teeth of the Dog golf association and the prize for the “closest to the pin” was a LoJack System for a car.
Congratulations to everyone who took part and of course to all the winners!
The prize-giving took place later that day – at the magnificent “beach party” themed gala dinner on Minitas Beach.
