During the Grand Final of the Casa de Campo Polo Challenge, Central Romana Corporation officially unveiled Romangus, its new line of premium beef. The launch was celebrated with a spectacular public tasting that allowed attendees to experience the exceptional quality of this locally produced offering.

Romangus is not just another brand—it is the result of more than a decade of research, development and a strong commitment to agro-industrial excellence. Jorge Sturla, Central Romana’s Director of Public Relations, who delivered the keynote remarks at the launch, emphasized the significance of this milestone for the company:
“With great pride, we introduce Romangus to the market—a brand of premium beef cuts developed from a cross between our own Romana Red and top-quality Angus cattle. This is an entirely new breed, grass-fed and hormone-free, that meets the highest international standards”, Sturla says.”
This ambitious project stems from the strategic vision of Engineer Eduardo Martínez Lima and Lic. Ramón Menéndez, who nearly a decade ago envisioned the creation of a top-tier Dominican beef product. Its realization has been made possible thanks to the collaboration of a multidisciplinary team, both local and international, including renowned Texas A&M University geneticist Dr. Joe Paschal, and the technical leadership of Dr. Leo Matos.
Romangus marks a new era for the Dominican meat industry—a product developed entirely under the strict standards of Central Romana Corporation, Ltd., with cattle raised on its own pastures and under a rigorous quality protocol.
