Once again, American Airlines resumes its historic route from Miami to La Romana International Airport, with a daily non-stop flight connecting this long-standing and growing tourist destination in the eastern part of the Dominican Republic with the most important city in the state of Florida.

The ceremony for the reception of flight AA3071 was welcomed by traditional Dominican music and dancers, and included the traditional ribbon cutting led by the executives of Central Romana, Casa de Campo Resort & Villas, American Airlines, and Miami-Dade Commissioner Kevin Cabrera, Chairman Anthony Rodriguez, and Florida’s Speaker of the House, Danny Perez, as well as, by the captains of the aircraft and its crew.

“Welcoming passengers on this daily American Airlines flight from Miami is like welcoming a good friend back home, as it has been a tradition for our airport and Casa de Campo resort & home owner community to have this air connectivity between our two cities,” said Luis Emilio Rodriguez, director of La Romana International Airport.

“Today, La Romana has developed and has strengthened with the investment and presence of new hotel chains, offering travelers who enter through our terminal various accommodation options, within the framework of a tourist destination that continues moving forward,” said Rodriguez.

Oliver Bojos, Regional Manager for American Airlines, highlighted the importance of the reopening of this route, since this daily flight broadens its presence with more than five destinations throughout the country. “We are proud to be able to continue to grow in the Dominican Republic through our long-awaited return to La Romana,” said Bojos.

This daily American Airlines flight is scheduled to depart from Miami at 10:37am and land in La Romana around 2:00pm. The flight back to Miami from La Romana takes off at 3:15pm.

Among those attending the reception ceremony of the American Airlines flight were Eduardo Martínez-Lima, Executive Vice President of Central Romana; Andrés Pichardo, President of Casa de Campo; Jason Kycek, SVP / Chief Marketing Officer; Kevin Marino Cabrera, commissioner of the 6th district of Miami County; Daniel Pérez, President of the Florida House of Representatives; Marvin Ochoa, Caribbean Sales Manager for AA ; Andrés Fernández, President of the Romana-Bayahibe Hotel Association; Eduardo Kery, Municipal Mayor of La Romana; Ivelisse Méndez, Provincial Governor of La Romana, among others.
