For over 15 years, the Fundación Lirio del Valle has tirelessly worked to improve the lives of underprivileged children in La Romana. This holiday season, your support can change even more lives.
Founded by Anna Maria Pla and Rosario Volquez, the foundation operates with a dedicated team of Dominican and Spanish volunteers and sponsors, providing educational and recreational activities for children in Villa Caoba, one of the region’s poorest areas. Remarkably, the foundation operates with no overhead expenses and relies entirely on your generous support.
A Mission Fueled by Generosity
Through the kindness of donors, many children have received sponsorship, which covers schooling, supplies, uniforms, Saturday playground sessions with meals, after-school help and recreational activities. Sponsors are encouraged to visit and build meaningful connections with their sponsored children.
However, many children are still waiting for support. If you would like to sponsor a child or make a donation, please get in touch with Anna Maria Pla, Dolly Molinari de Esteban, or Inge Demyttenaere.
How Your Support Helps
Even a small contribution can significantly impact the foundation’s efforts, which include:
- Sponsorship for 60 children (more sponsors are urgently needed!)
- Coordination of activities, games and meals for the children
- Providing clothing and meals for the children’s families
- Teaching personal hygiene and life skills
- Promoting moral and ethical values such as sharing and respect
- Organizing regular de-worming appointments with volunteer doctors
- Hosting educational workshops for mothers on values and hygiene
- Weekly visits by volunteers to assist with meals and activities
This Christmas season, the foundation shares a heartfelt message with the community:
“Thank you, thank you with all our hearts for your generosity. May God bless you and guide your path. Our children will keep you in their prayers.”
Your support can make a lasting difference in these children’s lives. Join us in this mission of hope and transformation.
