A group of young people from the agricultural communities of Central Romana participated in the “Tribe Camp,” a sports initiative led by world-class basketball player Al Horford. The camp involved basketball clinics for dozens of children and teenagers from La Romana.
Anthony Gómez, Vialfre de la Cruz, Richardson Sanó, Hamilton Sacarías, and Enmanuel Castillo, from the Guaymate and Higüeral divisions and the sugarcane community of Guerrero, had the opportunity to receive training on the basic fundamentals of basketball as well as psychosocial stimulation to aid their development as athletes.

The sports event, held at the Eleoncio Mercedes Sports Complex with the support of our company, recognized the achievements, talent, discipline, and contributions to national sports of NBA champion Al Horford, who was accompanied by his father Tito Horford.
“Supporting Dominican youth through sports programs in our agricultural communities will always be a priority for Central Romana. These young people see you as a role model and an example to follow. Therefore, we are proud to acknowledge all your achievements as an athlete and the human and family values that characterize you,” said Jorge Sturla, executive at Central Romana.
