On June 15, the La Romana Bayahibe Hotel Association successfully concluded its XI Torneo de Golf La Romana last weekend, honoring Rafael Blanco Canto, executive vice president of Viva Resorts by Wyndham.
The tournament’s scramble format created an exciting and competitive atmosphere for all participants. A portion of the proceeds went to the Solca Foundation, which supports vulnerable children and families in the Dominican Republic.

Carlos Medrano and Enrique Rodríguez won the men’s category A with 63 strokes. Rylcdamn Linares and Joan Ortega took the men’s category B with 65 strokes. Rhina Espaillat and Mabel Castillo topped the women’s category with 77 strokes. Freddy Almonte and Luis Escolástico achieved the best gross score with 61 strokes.
“The XI Torneo de Golf La Romana is not only an opportunity to enjoy the sport but also highlights the importance of golf in the region and its fundamental role in Dominican tourism,” said Blanco during the event.

“This golf tournament is not just a sporting competition but also an opportunity to unite and celebrate the beauty and charm of the La Romana destination,” said Andrés Fernández, president of the AHRB.
