The Altos de Chavon School of Design is opening its doors to the public to explore their artistic side with three days intensive courses that begin next week. There will be a total of 15 courses to select from, with the first one beginning on Monday, November 14th.

Below we’re detailing all the courses that will be available, everything from drawing, painting, social media, photography, photoshop, and swimsuit design! Since the courses are intensive, classes are held for 6 hours each day, for three days. Typically, classes run from 9am to 12pm, they break from 12pm to 2pm and begin once again from 2pm to 5pm. This is a typical schedule, sometimes there are changes depending on the course and instructor.

The program is focused on providing instruction on specific skills or general content related to art and design. They are open to beginners, young high school students, university students, professionals, hobbyists and people in general who are interested in art and design.

Social Media Strategy

Social media has become a large part of our lives. But why do we gravitate to a specific page or person? How can we sell a product or service using social media? Should we use mobil or professional photography? What techniques to use? How can I make my followers interact with me? These and more questions will be answered during the course.

Thursday, November 17th – Saturday, November 19th

Mobil Photography

This course is directed to anyone who desires to master basic notions of photography without having to buy a professional camera. The participants will understand the basics of photography and composition, mobil editing, and iOS and Android platforms where to share them.

Lettering

There’s nothing more satisfying that creating your own hand-drawn typography. Drawing, painting, and construction are important abilities for any designer. During this course, you will be able to explore all the techniques to make creative, functional and hand-drawn letterings.

Writing for Social Media

Generate powerful ideas that will connect you to your audience and learn to identify the best of online communication. Through the class, you’ll employ all the techniques that will help you create a relevant brand and what you have to avoid at all cost. Fashion Collection Development

This workshop focuses on the designing and development process of a fashion collection, from its conception, illustrations, sewing and costs. It’s intense but very practical if you want to launch a commercial brand or complement your skills and knowledge.

In this course you will learn that in order to get your message through you don’t need to include a lot of text in the flyer as long as you have a great image. Your will also touch on the importance of the relationship between Image-typography-paper that will decide whether a viewer will keep or toss your flyer.

In this intensive workshop on Landscape Painting, you’ll learn how to view nature and all living creatures in a different way, exploring its color schemes, techniques and how to reflect its textures and surfaces in your art.

Photoshop Lightroom

You will learn all the essential techniques and tools to work in Lightroom correctly. This 3 day course is ideal for those with a passion for digital photography, and with the desire to learn how to give their pictures a professional look.
