With many events happening lately in the city, we’re finding ourselves in Santo Domingo more and more often, and while we heart Fresh Fresh Café in Altos de Chavón their new spot in Piantini does an excellent job of bringing Chavón’s bohemian vibe to the city.
Recently, we celebrated their big opening at a party with music by La Tribu de Ayiti Quisqueya. Local friends and out-of-towners packed into the vibrant café, whose decor theme is filled with rustic wooden tables and tie-dye pillows.
Guests enjoyed lots of smoothies off Fresh Fresh’s classic menu; I for one savored the “Zimzala” complete with strawberries, bananas, and chinola juice. YUM! In Fresh Fresh’s ample outdoor seating areas, friends gathered under some starry lanterns to take in the tunes. See here Fresh Fresh’s Instagram video of La Tribu de Ayiti Quisqueya:
Inside, the café also sells many locally made products, whether it’s tea, spices, jams, beauty products or aromatherapy, there’s an array of goods you can’t miss checking out. The ambience of this new café is fantastic, and though set in the city, it feels like you step right outside of it into a relaxed, down-to-earth environment perfect for any busy day’s retreat.
As Xioma Menendez puts it, “Fresh Fresh is a place you feel so comfortable and so at home that you can even take off your shoes!” So grab friends and family, and make your stay in the city a memorable one with peace and love to all.
