While living in our little piece of paradise is something most of us wouldn’t change for the world, it’s also fair to mention that our friends in Santo Domingo often get to experience the latest trends a bit before they get to Casa. However, when the trends get to this side of paradise, oh boy do we rejoice! This is precisely what we felt like last week when we got to visit Luxe Nail Bar, a cozy and modern nail bar in La Romana which is just as awesome as all the trendy nail bars in Santo Domingo.
Before getting into the details of our experience at Luxe, I’ll use this opportunity to introduce myself: HI! I’m Carla, and I’m the latest member of SILGON/Casa de Campo Living. Although I’ve been collaborating on posts lately and working on some “behind the scenes” SILGON projects like the XI Casa de Campo Copa Semana Santa (click here to see photos & the video), I had been been postponing writing my first “official” post for a while now. Given that Philip and Rebecca are getting ready for their wedding festivities, I’m stepping up to the plate and making sure you, our loyal readers, remain well informed and up to speed with everything going on in Casa while they are away. Talking about the wedding brings me to telling you about Luxe Nail Bar.
Right before Rebecca left to Texas last week, we decided to celebrate with one last “hoorah” as a single lady in traditional girls’ fashion: getting pampered! Our friend, Lauren Llenas recommended we visit Luxe which opened its doors at the new Plaza Darinel on Calle La Altagracia just 2 months ago. The three of us headed over there and were greeted by Darinel Reyes, one of the owners of this trendy nail bar that we are sure our Casa girlfriends will love (and guy-friends too… because why not?! Guys need to be pampered too!).
Although the visit to Luxe started out as a routine “mani-pedi” session, it quickly became much more than that as the bubbly started flowing and we started to get to know some of the other services offered at Luxe. Rebecca and I both tried a gel manicure for the first time and I tried the “mood” nail polish that changes color depending on the temperature of the room you are in… cool huh?!
Amongst the other services offered at LUXE you will be able to get makeup, waxing, facials, massages, and nail art. The girls at Luxe will also dry and style your hair if you have previously washed it. The beauty of a Nail Bar is that they come with a fully stocked bar for you to enjoy while being pampered! Although we only had champagne, I hear the #luxecocktails are to die for.
Make sure to pay them a visit and check out this great new spot for yourself. Rebecca and I will definitely be going back… regularly!
