Gianfranco_Fini_1 Years after having made the elegant and amazing design of the Marina Casa de Campo, Gianfranco Fini, an Italian architect and artist, has opened his first individual art exhibition in the Dominican Republic. The Casa de Campo villa owner inaugurated his exhibition entitled “Tras el Color” at the Art Gallery San Ramon in Santo Domingo last Wednesday the 18th of March. “Tras el Color” has over twenty paintings, his work of the last four years (2011-2015) with another group created in early 2000; large format oil paintings and sculptures with a magnificent visual aesthetic language. “Tras el Color” provides an overview of the formal investigation of Gianfranco Fini with the evolution of his style over the last fourteen years. Gianfranco_Fini_5 Many members of the Casa de Campo community were in attendance; famous Dominican designer Jenny Polanco, Ramon and Xiomara Menéndez, Nicola Fini and Diego Fernandez, as well as Roberto Bonetti.

Gianfranco Fini

Gianfranco Fini is a special architect. He loves architecture, art and painting, while in his home he has an interesting collection of contemporary art works by Richard Serra, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, among other great masters. He currently lives in the Dominican Republic, where he first arrived in 1989 to build a friend’s villa, this was only the beginning of a long series of interesting projects in Dominican Republic, including the Marina Casa de Campo. Born in Rome, Italy, and after graduating from the “Liceo Artistico Ripetta”, at the age of nineteen he moved to Paris to continue his art studies. Returning to his hometown, he met with a group of young painters of his generation and together they made the first exhibitions in various galleries in Rome.
