The Bavaro – Uvero Alto – Miches highway will be officially inaugurated later this month, however it is already open, providing easy access to another beautiful destination for us to visit from Casa de Campo!
This new road connects Bavaro to Uvero Alto and Miches and will eventually connect right up to Sabana del Mar. The stretch currently open is 72km and provides visitors from Bavaro, Punta Cana and indeed La Romana and Casa de Campo with easy access to this beautiful coastal area to the north of Casa de Campo, previously only accessible via Higuey and small roads through the Cordillera Oriental mountains.
Some of the beautiful destinations now within reach from Casa de Campo include Macao Beach, a popular spot for surfing; Laguna Redonda and Montaña Redonda – a beautiful and formerly very remote area; and the quaint coastal town of Miches.
