The “Encuentro Anual Romanenses 2014” (Annual Romanenses Encounter 2014) was celebrated on Saturday November 15th at the Grand Roosevelt Ballroom in Yonkers, New York, to celebrate the10th anniversary of the “Club Unidos Por La Romana”.
This fantastic gala demonstrated the great power of convocation when bringing together more than 500 people from La Romana, the State of New York and the USA, to celebrate the culture and brotherhood of the Dominican people.
Throughout many years, the gala party of “Club Unidos Por La Romana”, has gathered many Romanense residents in New York and all USA in one place, strengthening the bonds of friendship among the participants… and this year was no exception!
As every year, the event had a massive attendance, recognitions were given to distinguished Romanenses residents in New York, including; Mrs. Nurys de Oleo, Senator Adriano Espaillat Assistant in addition to Dr. Manuel Ramón Canela Escaño, Founder of the Clínica Canela in La Romana.
Later on, everyone danced to the catchy music of Johnny Ventura (El Caballo Mayor), a prominent Dominican merenguero with an unblemished career for over 50 years.

Among those who jetted from La Romana to the United States to be part of this great party were; the governor of La Romana, Tony Santana, Andrés Fernández, Commercial, Airport & Port for Central Romana; also outstanding radio and television figures of La Romana, including Felipe Hunt, who was the master of ceremony, Ramon Moreta and Manuel de Jesús, among others.

With the aim of increasing the participation of Romanenses / Dominicans in the JFK-LRM-JFK route, the La Romana International Airport caused euphoria announcing that all those who come to La Romana between December 1, 2014 and February 28, 2015 will get:
- Poster greeting with special assistance at their arrival by the LRM Customer Service team.
- Free transportation in taxis from the airport to anywhere in the city of La Romana, courtesy granted by the La Romana International Airport.
