The Metropolitan Opera, the largest classical music association in North America, with it’s program “Metropolitan Opera: Live in HD” invites you to enjoy it’s second Opera Show “Le Nozze di Figaro” a musical composition by Mozart, showing this Saturday October 25th, here in the Marina Casa de Campo!
The “Metropolitan Opera: Live in HD” series started in the Marina Casa de Campo last Saturday with Macbeth and will continue though to the end of May with more than 10 shows.
This Saturday, the Marina Casa de Campo Cinema premiers it’s second opera “Le Nozze di Figaro”, “The Marriage of Figaro”, an opera buffa (comic opera) in four acts composed in 1786 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, with an Italian libretto written by Lorenzo Da Ponte based on a stage comedy by Pierre Beaumarchais, La folle journée, ou le Mariage de Figaro (1784).
It is considered one of Mozart’s best creations and one of the most important operas in the history of music. Despite receiving much criticism at the time, he achieved great success in his performances. The Marriage of Figaro is one of the most important operas of the standard operatic repertoire and appears as number 5 on the list of most performed operas worldwide, and boy are we lucky to see it in the comfort of our community’s cinema!
