The Dominican Republic’s ultimate expression of fashion is coming very soon! The 9th edition of the Dominicana Moda fashion event will take place from the 20th to the 25th of October in Hotel El Embajador, Santo Domingo.
In August, the “kickoff party” for Dominicana Moda 2014 greeted many of our fashionistas and public figures, when the organizers of this glamorous fashion show, Mirka Morales, Sócrates McKinney and Fidel López, revealed the details of this very exciting week.
“Like every year, the runways of DominicanaModa will manifest the quality of Dominican fashion. Our best designers, our best models, our best technicians, stylists, makeup artists and hairdressers will combine their talents to continue consolidating DominicanaModa as the most important event in the Caribbean and one of the most important ones in Latin America,” said Sócrates McKinney as he announced the details of this year’s event.
Well-known designers such as Leonel Lirio, Giannina Azar, Moisés Quesada, Jacqueline Then, Larissa Salcedo and Carlos de Moya will participate in the fashion show, among many other well-known designers and some emerging designers like Maylé Vásquez, Ingrid Recio, David Dovente, Michelle Cruz, María Fernanda Design, Estefania Lozada and Rafael Rivero, some of which studied in the Altos de Chavón School of Art and Design.
There will also be the presence of international designers from Venezuela, Spain and other parts of the Caribbean, thanks to the support of the Dominican Ministry of Tourism.
Brands such as Camila, Blue Country, Cosita Linda, Cayena, Chacabanas Dominicanas, Pamplemush and Mango will also showcase their pieces in Dominicana Moda 2014, as well as brands for children, such as Blue Island by Madelaine Morel, Rayuela Kids and Vittoria by CDM.
