Law & Order on the Dye Fore

Early this month, on Saturday August 2nd, the third edition of the”Ley y Orden” (Law & Order) golf tournament hosted by the Dominican National Police (Policía Nacional) was held at the prestigious golf course, the Dye Fore in Casa de Campo. The tournament was organized by the Asociación de Esposas de Oficiales de la PN (ASEOPNA) and supported by the Dominican Federation of Golf (FEDOGOLF). From early in the morning, dozens of Officers of the Dominican National Police (Policía Nacional), joined by friends and family participated in this charity event, and enjoyed a wonderful and sunny day on the greens of the beautiful Dye Fore. The golf tournament was played in a “Scramble in Pairs” format, and on this occasion the brothers Federico and Tómas Lebron took home the champions trophies with a net stroke score of just 59. There were also special prizes for the Closest to the Pin. (See the results below).

Dominican National Police (Policía Nacional) platoon

Mrs. Mireya Castillo Viuda Castro, president of the Asociación de Esposas de Oficiales de la PN (ASEOPNA), had the honor of symbolically teeing off the contest, following which more than 140 locals and foreign players headed out onto the Dye Fore in Casa de Campo, and enjoyed an excellent morning of golf! The “Ley y Orden” golf tournament was held to raise funds for the Asociación de Esposas de Oficiales de la Policía Nacional (Wives’ Association), to buy school supplies for police officers children. It was attended by golfers from all over the Dominican Republic, who competed for prizes in different categories. Among the various personalities who participated in the event was the Director of the Dominican Armed Forces, Sigfrido Pared Pérez, the Chief of the Dominican Navy, Edwin Dominici Rosario, the prominent “Merenguero” Eddy Herrera, Colonel Khalil Hache, Francisco Micheli, Central Romana’s Vice-President of Public Relations, in addition to several businessmen, the officers’ wives, and many others.

Also taking part in the event was the Dominican National Police (Policía Nacional) band, who performed at the inauguration of the tournament.
