Casa de Campo golfers get ready! On August 30th, the 3rd Willy Pumarol Golf Classic tournament will be played on the Links – and with the participation of Willy Pumarol himself all players will have the chance to play with this up and coming Dominican golfer who is the first Dominican player to take part in the Latin American PGA Tour.
This golf classic, will have the support of Central Romana and the Casa de Campo resort and will be played on the inland golf course, The Links. The 3rd Willy Pumarol Golf Classic tournament “ruta al PGA Tour” is being played in honor of Willy and is part of the build up to his competing in the Latin American PGA Tour starting in September this year in Ecuador and ending in December in Argentina.
This tournament will be played in a pairs scramble format, in categories A (0 to 10 handicap) and B (11 to 24 handicap), male and female, and with the aim of supporting up and coming Dominican golfing talent, will also include golf clinics and training sessions, as well as exhibitions of golf clubs and supplies… and many other activities relating to the wonderful world of golf.
On his most recent visit to Casa de Campo, Willy Pumarol representing both Casa de Campo and the Dominican Republic did is all proud – as the only Dominican golfer to make it into the final round of the DR Open, played on May 18th on the Teeth of the Dog. Although the tournament was eventually won by Michael Buttacavoli, Willy Pumarol was nevertheless pleased with his performance, telling Casa de Campo Living “playing the DR Open will always be a great experience for me, an experience that makes me feel happy and fulfilled regardless of not winning. You win some, you lose some.” What a great sportsman!

The funds raised through the tournament will be used to cover the costs of the different stages of the Latin America PGA Tour that start in September this year in Ecuador and end in December in Argentina.
