The 5th Grand Induction Ceremony of Latino Baseball Hall of Fame (Salon de la Fama del Béisbol Latino in Spanish), ‘Quinto Inning Especial’, held last month on February 8th at the Altos de Chavón amphitheater, will be broadcast throughout the Dominican Republic on Sunday March 23rd by the CDN37 channel, from of 8 to 9pm.

The great event in which Luis Garcia, Osvaldo Virgil, Ben Campaneris, Omar Moreno, Silvio Garcia, Moises Alou, Luis Rodríguez Olmo, Vinny Castilla, Gil Garrido, Baldomero Almada, Luis Salazar, Juan Pizarro, Cesar Tovar and Aurelio Lopez, were inducted into the Latino Baseball Hall of Fame, was also attended by David David Ortiz and Robinson Canó, who received awards for their achievements in the World Series and the 2013 World Baseball Classic, respectively.

The gala was a joint production of the Salon de la Fama del Béisbol Latino and sports channel ESPN, and was broadcast on ESPN channel with Kevin Cabral and Guillermo Selis as the presenters. The ceremony was attended by latino baseball heroes such as Roberto Alomar, member of Cooperstown and Hall of Fame Baseball Latino  and SFBL members Juan Gonzalez, Ted Higuera, Benjamin Ogilvie, Julian Javier, Felipe Alou, Manny Trillo, among other distinguished guests.

The Latino Baseball Hall of Fame has, since its inception, has had the collaboration of CDN37, the main sports channel of Dominican Republic, who have been relaying all the ceremonies since 2010.

‘Quinto Inning Especial’ was the theme of this year’s celebration. There can be no doubt that the Grand Induction Ceremony of Latino Baseball Hall of Fame is becoming a tradition in the international sports arena, and is now attended by thousands of baseball fans, as well as viewed by a large audience in the United States and Latin America.
