UPDATE 1: Due to fears of getting our feet and pretty dresses wet… there will no longer be a boat to the Café de la Leche at Ki-Ra Holistic Resort, but there will be a bus. The bus will be departing from the Casa de Campo Hotel at 4:30pm.
Are you ready for an adventure? The next Cafe de la Leche is scheduled to take place at Ki-Ra Holistic retreat in Boca Chavon, and we’ll be catching a boat or bus to get there! How exciting!
The monthly Cafe de la Leche, celebrated to gather milk for the Crib Room at the Hogar del Nino, is always a fun gathering shared among the ladies (and sometimes gentlemen) of Casa de Campo, but on this occasion the opportunity to visit somewhere new, makes this March edition of the Cafe de la Leche a must-attend event.
“We decided to host the Cafe de la Leche, because we thought it would be fun to get people over here for a celebration of life generally, but also to show everyone that we are really not so far away!
We will be offering food and drinks that represent some of the food we offer here and will be funking up some of the juices to make some jolly cocktails too. We would also like people to look around and see what we have on offer and how to go about getting it. We will be doing a raffle for treatments and classes as part of the afternoon also.”

So it looks like we’re all set for a marvellous afternoon. The adventure will start at the Marina Casa de Campo or the Casa de Campo Hotel, where a boat or bus will take guests directly to Ki-Ra Holistic Living Resort.
Upon arrival the gathering will be very similar (yet refreshingly different) to other Café de la Leche gatherings; we’ll all enjoy drinks and snacks and share a good time among friends – but of course on this occasion we will also have the opportunity to explore and get to know the mystical oceanside wilderness that is the Ki-Ra Holistic Living Resort.

Café de la Leche at Ki-Ra Holistic Living Resort
When: Thursday March 13th, 5pm – 7pm
Where: Ki-Ra Holistic Living Resort, Boca Chavón
How to get there:
Option 1: By bus
Meet us at the Casa de Campo Hotel at the Flamboyant Conference Center at 4:30pm.
Option 2: By Boat Go to the river port just outside of the Marina Casa de Campo and from there you can catch the boat. Departing from 5pm. Please give your captain a tip.
Option 2: Drive.
If you would prefer to drive, the directions are as follows: Take the Autopista del Coral highway in the direction of Punta Cana and get off at the first junction after the bridge over the river Chavón, signposted ‘Boca de Chavon’. Turn right and follow the track back down towards the sea for approximately 7km. The road seems long, you will know you are close when you drive between 3 large red and white antena and then go down a steep hill. Approximately 1 km on the left is a little road, the first possible left turn after the antena, take that road and follow it straight until you get to turquoise gates – that’s us! Journey time is approximately 30 minutes.

Ki-Ra Holistic Living Resort
Ki-Ra is a place where you can come and have the experience of holistic living taking as much or as little as you want. Holistic living literally means a way of life that integrates all parts of connecting with nature and oneself; finding your perfect balance of health, fun, relationships with family, friends and the environment, living in nature in a comfortable way and fully enjoying all aspects of your life. The energy here is really peaceful so you can definitely escape if you want to or come and have some healing time with treatments and healthy food, but we are keen to emphasize that it’s meant to be a fun experience so that it remains something that you actually continue to do and enjoy after you leave.
The Cafe de la Leche is a monthly charitable event, a little like a coffee or a tea party held for the ladies of Casa de Campo (although men are occasionally invited) and usually takes place on the first Friday of the month, hosted by a member of the Casa de Campo villa at her Casa de Campo villa or occasionally restaurant/business.
