It’s almost here! One of our favorite summertime events of the Casa de Campo social calendar – the Fundación MIR Family Weekend – will take place very soon on Saturday the 10th of August. And in a break from tradition Tiffany’s “mysterious blue boxes” will be featuring items from a brand new line – the Ziegfeld collection, inspired by the Great Gatsby movie.
The Fundación MIR Family Weekend invites the whole family to take part in tennis and golf tournaments, as well as a fabulous dinner gala to be celebrated on Minitas Beach, during which you’ll have the opportunity to contribute just a little more to this great cause by purchasing a treat for yourself or a loved one – one of Tiffany’s Mysterious Blue Boxes!
As lead sponsor of the event, Tiffany & Co., has donated 75 of their fabulous Tiffany boxes from the “mysterious blue wall”. Boxes are priced at US$300 (with 100% of the proceedings destined for the Fundación MIR), and once purchased you get the opportunity to select a number, which corresponds to a box… and your present is revealed!
As always a great selection of Tiffany jewellery items, for men and women, will be available – on this occasion the selection will also include gorgeous pieces from Tiffany’s new “Ziegfeld” collection, which was inspired by actual pieces created by Tiffany’s for Baz Luhman’s recent hit movie the Great Gatsby starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

Wasn’t it wonderful? Blessed with the most beautiful sunny weather and the clearest starry night, the Fundación MIR Family Weekend for Life, which raises funds to support the everyday running of the Fundación MIR’s 3 schools in La Romana – was simply splendid. And with a BIG increase in participation over last year – it was without a doubt, a resounding success!
The Fundación MIR is a non-profit organization which works to provide education to the children of the greater La Romana area, who are most in need. They run 3 schools; the MIR Esperanza (boys vocational school), the Escuela Tecnica Vocacional Fundación MIR (girls vocational school) and the Primaria MIR (infants school).
