On Saturday May 25th the Altos de Chavón Amphitheater was filled with color. A group of more than 30 youngsters of National School of Dance (ENDANZA) took center stage to wow the audience with 27 wonderful choreographies, as part of the activities of the Festival de Primavera, held from the 23rd to the 26th of May in Altos de Chavón.
“Tiempos de ENDANZA” was the name of the show which consisted of classical ballet, modern dance and Dominican folk dances such as Merengue, Gagá and Guloya – these last three closed the night masterfully

The audience were impressed with the spectacular stunts performed by the dancers – to the point of giving each presentation a standing ovation.
As well as the beautiful ballet dances -where the boy and girls did a flawless job on stage- the closing performances were some of the favorite numbers of the ENDANZA show. The participation of more than 30 young people on stage, dressed in colorful costumes, dancing to the rhythm of Dominican folk music music – Guloya, was spectacular!

The National School of Dance is part of the Dominican Ministry of Culture, and is under the direction of Ninoska Velázquez, who is responsible for training and educating the dancers to a technical-professional level in them different aspects of Dance Education;
contemporary and folk. These novice dancers will then later receive further dance training with the Dominican National Ballet, the National Folkloric Ballet or the Contemporary Dance Group.
