Grand Cañeros MTB Marathon – this Sunday the 3rd of March in La Romana!

This Sunday the 3rd of March 2013, the Cañeros MTB Foundation will be celebrating its 6th annual “Gran Maratón Cañeros MTB” (Grand Cañeros MTB Marathon) in La Romana – a wonderful opportunity for MTB (biking) enthusiasts to gather for a great cause, and you are cordially invited to join the fun!

After 5 years of success, this unique event in La Romana, will unite many members of La Romana and Casa de Campo communities, as well as the Cañeros MTB Foundation – and more than 750 riders are expected to take part this year! And with funds being raised  to help build a brighter future for the many boys and girls of the La Romana area – this is an opportunity to have fun and help a good cause.

The “Gran Maratón”, now known to be a professional circuit, will be take place in the Batey of Cacata in the greater La Romana area, with the more than 750 participants divided into 15 categories which will lead them through 4 different routes.

6th annual Grand Cañeros MTB Marathon

Cost: RD$650 p/p – includes lunch, bag, t-shirt, cap and a chip.

Cañeros MTB Foundation 

The Cañeros MTB Foundation is a non-profit organization in which many residents in the East of the Dominican Republic are involved, with the aim of giving boys and girls of La Romana, the opportunity of  practicing this great sport, as a way of occupying their time in sporting activities which will stimulate their development in the long run.

The funds raised in these activities allow them to participate in National Mountain Bike competitions – with have all the necessary equipment.
