Since Dominican designer Jenny Polanco started “Jenny Polanco Project” featuring the creations of both Haitian and Dominican artisans, it was only a matter of time before she would celebrate the opening of a boutique in Haiti – and was in fact a celebratiion which took place last month just in time for Christmas.
The opening, celebrated with champagne and picaderas, marked Jenny Polanco as the number 1 Dominican designer brand in Hispaniola; with 4 boutiques in Santo Domingo and 2 in Casa de Campo – in the Marina Casa de Campo and in Altos de Chavón.
Jenny Polanco Boutique Haiti offers clothing collections for ladies and girls, as well as accessories, including jewelry, shawls and purses. The clothing designs are characteristically Jenny Polanco in design and style, mostly in white and accompanied by touches of amber, and wood. The JP jewelry collection is a fine and sophisticated; original and unique with natural elements such as amber, mother of pearl, jade and coral.

The Jenny Polanco Project store in Altos de Chavón is quiet possibly the best place in Casa de Campo (and La Romana) to purchase unique, traditional and handmade arts and crafts. In store you will find hand carved plates and models, genuine Haitian and Dominican paintings, traditional Dominican carnaval masks, wicker bowls and baskets, wooden table decorations and even furniture – all hand made by skilled Dominican, Haitian and Caribbean craftsman.
