On Friday November 23rd, we (Casa de Campo Living) published the news that the Fundación MIR was selling tickets for the upcoming Julio Iglesias concert in Altos de Chavón on December 28th – and since then the phone at the Fundación MIR has not stopped ringing – with the charity already having sold (or reserved) more than RD$1,674,000 worth of tickets – equating to a more than US$9,000 gain for the cause which runs three schools in La Romana.
The Fundación MIR charity have been allocated tickets to sell by concert organiser, George Nader, for which they will be receiving a 20% commission – money which will be used within the foundation, no doubt for the continued up-keep of the schools, new equipment or even to advance new projects. To date the Fundación MIR is thrilled to have already sold more than 150 tickets – but would of course LOVE to sell even more! This will be the the 6th time, Julio Iglesias, the world-famous Spanish singer and songwriter will take to the stage of the Altos de Chavón amphitheater to serenade his fans with his many hit songs like “A veces tú, a veces yo”, “Corazón de papel”, “El amor”, and “El Bacalao”! With this performance, part of his World Tour to promote his latest album “Julio Iglesias 1″, Julio Iglesias will become the artist to have performed the most times at the magnificent open air amphitheater in Altos de Chavón, which over the last 30 years has hosted numerous intenational and national artists in more than 170 concerts.
