marina casa de campoLast Sunday the 19th of August 2012, the Azimut Café in the Marina Casa de Campo hosted it’s most successful “Sunset Jazz Night” yet, when more than 100 Casa de Campo guests of all nationalities enjoyed a wonderful sunset and starlit evening.  The “Sunset Jazz Night”, whose official name is “Atardecer con sabor a musica”, is a monthly musical gathering hosted by the Azimut Café to unite the Casa de Campo community with a little light entertainment and a few drinks, and is sponsored by Casa de Campo Living and Silgon Inc. as media partners. Since it’s debut on Saturday April the 7th (Sábado Santo), the popularity of the “Sunset Jazz Night” has skyrocketed. The last edition in July was literally “standing room only” (click here for photos) and last Sunday was no different – with even more jazz lovers sipping champagne around tables which spilled across the terrace overlooking the Marina Casa de Campo. In attendance were a vibrant mix of Casa de Campo villa owners; permanent residents such as Ivonna Sosa, Thelma Santoni and myself, as well as a strong representation from the Italian community, who always visit for several weeks in August, friends from Santo Domingo such as famous Dominican designer Jenny Polanco, as well as a surprising number of “new” faces and visitors to the Marina Casa de Campo. Everyone was greeted to a friendly welcome from the evening’s hostess, Alice Caslini and her father, Mauro Caslini, President of IB Nautica, the company who owns the Azimut Café, as well as IBI Yachts and the IBC Shipyard.

During this month’s “Sunset Jazz Night”, the Azimut Café celebrated it’s 1 year anniversary and so to suit the celebratory tone of the evening, guests were treated to a welcome “brindis” and the music accompanied by a singer, was lively and up-beat.[Click here for photos of the inauguration the Azimut Café celebrated in August 2011.] A nice addition to the evening was the display of Bluegame yachts, docked alongside the Azimut Café showing off their sleek, modern design and multi-purpose style – designed to suit all nautical pleasures from a casual boat trip  to serious deep-sea fishing. Congratulations once again to the Azimut Café for another wonderful event! About Bluegame Yachts bluegame yacht Bluegame yachts offer a new concept to yacht owners – a yacht which combines aspects of different types of boats to the needs of the whole family: an open deck for those who love the outdoor life, a versatile build with a third sun deck on top and even a “marlin tower” for lovers of sport fishing. Bluegame yachts come in three standard models; the 40, 47 and 60 – of which all 3 can be customized to suit the needs and wants of the owner. The basic components of Bluegame yachts are:

Open: the “day cruiser” style – designed for daily leisure boat trips

T-top: with a sun deck on the roof

• Tender: an indoor-outdoor living space, which can be completely open or completely enclosed (with A/C)

• Marlin: with a marlin tower, a the tubular steel structure that favors the position of fishing with the possibility of having the command from the bridge even higher
